Have you heard about the WorkBoat Show?

Image
The International WorkBoat Show is a conference and expo for commercial vessel owners, operators, and builders as well as suppliers and vendors who serve them.  The 2018 event will be held at the Morial Convention Center in New Orleans on November 28-30, 2018. This is a very interesting market and one that uses lots of fluid power technology in many areas.  You can visit their website for more information and here is a link .  Fluid power is used in many areas of industry, public service, leisure, and maritime applications.  The WorkBoat Show will have many examples of the latter. In our quest to cover fluid power technology wherever it works will include work boats as the examples at this important show will be covered in future issues.   Fluid Power World has become an excellent source of fluid power information and our coverage continues to grow.  For more information about us, please visit our website.

Mining Machinery Covered in December

Image
The December 2018 issue of Fluid Power World will take a look a the many functions performed in mines that are made possible the by the use of hydraulics.  When operating machinery in harsh environments with very heavy loads, there is no more reliable technology than hydraulics. The mining industry has shown some recovery from some difficult years making it an interesting market again.  Our coverage of this market is still very timely and our December issue offers mobile hydraulic component manufacturers an opportunity to advertise in an issue focused on mining applications. Every issue of Fluid Power World features multiple end use markets as well as explaining how components work.  Take advantage of the strength of the mining market by reserving your advertising space for our December issue before November 20, 2018. Additionally, we do feature mining applications in our Mobile Hydraulic Tips website.  If you have not had a chance to visit this site, here is a link .

One of the best ever ...

I had the privilege of attending the 2018 Fluid Power Distributor Association (FPDA) annual meeting in Lake Tahoe last week.  First of all, Lake Tahoe and the whole region around it is beautiful.  Secondly, the Resort at Squaw Creek was incredible. Having the Annual Summit Meeting of the FPDA and the International Sealing Distribution Association (ISD) at this beautiful venue set the foundation for an amazing few days.  Add to that, some of the best speakers makes this a memorable event.  The two associations, FPDA and ISD joined forces several years ago to take advantage of the adjacent technologies, fluid power and sealing. Tim David held us all captivated with his presentation titled 7 Magic Words.  Beth Ziesenis told us more about apps that I would have imagined existed in her presentation Secret Tech Weapons for Distribution.  There were many opportunities for networking, a fun brewery visit, great meals, and a really cool 80s Bingo party at the end.  That's r
