Our YouTube training series will continue on July 14, 2020 with a session titled Slip-In Cartridge Valves:  Simply Logical Flow.  Carl Dyke of LunchBox Sessions  will be presenting this session live on YouTube as he has for the past five sessions.  All of them have attracted over 1,000 views. Here is a link  that you can follow to have access to all of the past sessions for free.  They include topics such as Servo Valves, Particle Contamination, Piston Pumps, Pressure Relief Valves, and Pilot Pressure Controls.  In our upcoming session, Carl will demonstrate several slip-in cartridges running live and discuss the valve surface area ratios and the pilot options on the cover plate.  Live Schematic reading and 3D fly throughs included!   I invite you to go to the LunchBox Sessions page and review all of our previous five sessions and to join us on July 14th for our next session which will cover cartridge valves.  This is a great way to learn right from your desk.   The last session on ou

Announcing our first two sessions

As I have mentioned before, our Fluid Power Technology Conference is adding a virtual dimension starting immediately.  Our team carefully considered ways that we can offer the same value to our sponsors that an in-person event offers. The simple answer is that you cannot replace in-person events completely.  However, our virtual format will include many of the elements of our in-person event that we fully expect to continue at some point. Below are some details about our first two sessions of our Fluid Power Technology Conference Virtual Series, including our keynote on July 7, 2020.  We are thrilled to have Joe Kovach present his very well educated insights into the Tacking of Hydraulic Challenges with Technology .  After Joe's session, we will offer a breakout room for questions.  Joe took many questions at his live in Cleveland session in Cleveland last November. Two weeks later, Josh Cosford will present From Complex to Simple:  Sizing & Selection of Fluid Power Seals  spon

Another Success in our YouTube Training Series

We just had our sixth presentation of the LunchBox Sessions live YouTube training yesterday and it was another success.  Here is a link where you can take a look. The title of the session presented yesterday was Servo Valves:  Running Live and in 3D and the session was both informative and lively as usual.  Our two sponsors were Servo Kinetics and Delta Computer Systems, Inc.  We are fortunate to have a partnership with Carl Dyke of LunchBox Sessions who is the presenter in all of our training sessions. We have two more episodes of the series remaining on our current calendar including Slip-in Cartridge Valves:  Simply Logical Flow on July 14, 2020 and Load Sensing Systems: Pump Control and Valve Bank Mysteries on August 25, 2020. I invite you to subscribe for free to LunchBox Sessions and join us on July 14th.  You can also access all of the previous sessions archived on that YouTube channel.

More about our virtual series

Adding to the value of our FPTC, we will be conducting sessions online for audiences around the country starting in  July 2020 . This online series will include technical presentations, networking opportunities with manufacturing sponsors as well as other attendees, and a chance to learn about specific technologies and products from sponsors in place of exhibit time. The series will be held every other Tuesday at 2PM EST and will continue throughout the summer and into fall. Session Format: The technical sessions will each be about 30 to 45 minutes in duration and will be of the same format and emphasis as our live event. Our sponsors and speakers will present fluid power solutions for both design engineers and MRO specialists in all areas of fluid power including system design, componentry, maintenance and troubleshooting, and any other areas of interest to fluid power professionals. All of the sessions will be hosted on our website for future on-demand viewing. Breakouts: At the end

2020 Fluid Power Handbook

Image
Don't forget our most important magazine issue of the year, our Fluid Power Handbook in July.  With tutorials on all of the major fluid power component groups, this handy reference guide is used all year long by our readers.  We will be taking advertising reservations until the end of June for this issue and we can place your ad in the component category of your choice, so reserve now for your first choice.   Our readers need current information on how components work, the variety of configurations available, and how they make systems most efficient.  From compressor to actuator on pneumatic systems, and from reservoir to actuator on hydraulic systems, our coverage includes everything in between.  In order to design the very best system possible, knowledge of the entire system is required. Likewise, proper maintenance on a hydraulic or pneumatic system requires knowledge of all of the components in the system.  Our July Fluid Power Handbook offers our readers this kind of knowledge

Servo Valves on our YouTube Series

The next session of our YouTube training series will take place on June 23, 2020 and the topic will be Servo Valves:  Running Live and in 3D.  Carl Dyke will present this session from his studio as he has with the previous sessions. Here is a link to the previous sessions   As you will see from this channel, the previous five sessions have had over 1,000 views each showing that the content is really generating interest.  I invite you to tune in live, watch Carl in action, and ask questions.

Fluid Power Technology Conference - Virtual Series

I am happy to announce our Virtual Series that we plan to launch on July 7, 2020.  With our Minneapolis event being postponed, we felt that the best way to offer our sponsors the opportunity to reach out to new customers is with a virtual series. The first session will take place at 2:00 pm EDT on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 with a keynote session presented by our own speaker, Joe Kovach.  He will offer a very energized look at the current state of fluid power technology.  If you attended our live Cleveland event in November, you probably got to hear Joe speak. We are very excited to bring Joe back to launch our new virtual event.  Right now, we plan to present a live session every other week beginning on July 7th and running through the rest of this year.  At the end of each session, we will offer two breakout rooms, one for the speaker to be used to field questions and the other for one of our sponsors to present their products and take questions. In addition, we will launch a weekly Fluid

Seeing and Measuring is Believing

Our YouTube Live training series with Carl Dyke of LunchBox Sessions resumes next week on June 9, 2020 with a session titled Particle Contamination:  Seeing and Measuring is Believing.  Carl will have digital microscopes for particle identification and measuring, sample equipment, and a laser particle counter for this lively interactive event on hydraulic fluid cleanliness, Here is a link for you to subscribe to this series for free. At Fluid Power World magazine and digital media network, we are well aware of the need for hydraulic fluid cleanliness.  We have a website dedicated to fluid cleanliness and sealing titled Sealing & Contamination Control Tips This website is full of great filtration ideas and applications as well as reviews of filtration products.  If your company sells hydraulic filters or other related filtration devices, please send us your content for posting on our website.  The information from SCCT is then picked up for our Sealing & Conta
