Our second session of the Fluid Power Technology Conference Virtual Series is now available on-demand at this link   On July 21st, Josh Cosford presented a session titled From Complex to Simple:  Sizing and Selecting Fluid Power Seals .  The session was sponsored by Precision Associates Inc. All of our sessions will be presented live first and then recorded and presented on-demand free for our audience.  I invite you to check out this session and then register for our next presentation by Tom Wanke that will be titled Understanding Pump and Motor Efficiencies , presented on August 4, 2020 at 2:00 EDT. Our intention is to continue providing excellent fluid power content to our audience through virtual means for now and then return to live, in-person presentations at future dates.  Stay tuned for further information.

That is the title of our next Fluid Power Technology Conference Virtual Series session.  On August 4, 2020 at 2:00 PM EDT, we will be conducting this session presented by Tom Wanke of the Milwaukee School of Engineering. Tom has been instrumental in getting our Fluid Power Technology Conferences started a few years ago at MSOE and he has presented at each of our previous in-person events.  Now Tom has agreed to present our next virtual session titled Understanding Pump and Motor Efficiencies.  Here is a brief overview: The title is  “Understanding Pump and Motor Efficiencies”   Overview. This presentation discusses the importance of power losses in pumps and motors.  Volumetric. mechanical and overall efficiencies will be defined along with methods for determining them.  Parameters effecting volumetric, mechanical and overall efficiencies will also be discussed.   Manufacturers catalog data will be reviewed and calculations to determine efficiencies at specific operating points will be

Select the right seals for the job

One of the intentions of our Fluid Power Technology Conference is to inform our audience of the many factors that lead to the proper selection of components for any fluid power system.  That selection includes seals and sealing devices. On Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at 2:00 pm EDT, Josh Cosford who is one of our regular presenters will explain the factors that should be considered for seal selection, From complex to simple: sizing and selection of fluid power seals It is important to understand the complexities of seal materials, types and designs for use in fluid power application. This session will be a primer on the basics of sealing systems and products specific to the fluid power industry. Josh will discuss general fluid power seal applications, including mounting locations and fluid compatibility. As well, machine dynamics play a part in seal selection, especially comparing both dynamic or static loads. Finally, Josh will cover how environmental factors affect seal selection, especia

Our launch of the 2020 Fluid Power Technology Conference Virtual Series went very well.  Our keynote speaker, Joe Kovach delivered an excellent overview of meeting the challenges of industry using hydraulic innovations. We had a solid audience of over 100 registrants and many viewed the presentation and remained online for the Q&A session that followed.   The concept of our event follows the same pattern of our in-person Conference with seminar sessions and networking.  Our goal for future sessions is to have more of our audience join the Q&A breakout room, our second sponsor breakout room, and ask many questions that are on their minds. Join us every other Tuesday with our next session taking place on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at 2:00 pm EDT.  Our topic will be hydraulic seal selection and will be sponsored by Precision Associates Inc.   Here is a link where you can register for free.

Join us in August

In August, our excellent content surrounding your advertising message continues in  Fluid Power World  magazine and digital media network.  Our print magazine has some very interesting and informative content planned this issue.   It starts with our coverage of the  Machine Tools  and the many contributions that fluid power systems make to the efficient operation of manufacturing machines.  This issue will give some examples.  Also,  Mining Machinery   continues to rely on the strength and dependability of fluid power systems.  We will review the fluid power systems involved in the machinery that delivers so many valuable resources to the marketplace.   Pneumatics in Packaging Machinery  will be a focus on one of the larger markets that takes advantage of the efficiency of pneumatic systems.  Our product focus items for August will be  Gauges  and  Pneumatic Cylinders .  Our regular departments will round out an excellent editorial package in August.   Turning to the digital side of ou

We are planning a great launch
