Understanding Pump and Motor Efficiencies

That is the title of our next Fluid Power Technology Conference Virtual Series session.  On August 4, 2020 at 2:00 PM EDT, we will be conducting this session presented by Tom Wanke of the Milwaukee School of Engineering.

Tom has been instrumental in getting our Fluid Power Technology Conferences started a few years ago at MSOE and he has presented at each of our previous in-person events.  Now Tom has agreed to present our next virtual session titled Understanding Pump and Motor Efficiencies.  Here is a brief overview:

The title is “Understanding Pump and Motor Efficiencies”

Overview.

This presentation discusses the importance of power losses in pumps and motors.  Volumetric. mechanical and overall efficiencies will be defined along with methods for determining them.  Parameters effecting volumetric, mechanical and overall efficiencies will also be discussed.   Manufacturers catalog data will be reviewed and calculations to determine efficiencies at specific operating points will be covered.

Please consider joining us for this virtual session if you are interested in learning more about hydraulic pumps and motors.  Here is a link where you can register for free.  There will be a question and answer session following Tom's presentation and I also invite you to take notes and be prepared to ask any questions of Tom after his presentation.

This Virtual Series is our way of bringing fluid power education to our audience online.  Our first few sessions have been successful and you can view the archived presentations on our website and here is that link.
