Optimize Your Social Media

Image
I have many discussions with clients about the use of Social Media to promote their company and products to the markets served by fluid power technology.  My advice almost always encourages the use of Social Media by manufacturers and distributors of fluid power components. Twitter seems to be the most effective platform to send out and receive product information and it is very easy to use.  LinkedIn, while some people refer to it as a job seekers platform, I think actually functions just as well as Twitter for sending out and receiving product information. We are just getting started with Instagram with a Fluid Power World account so I am not sure how effective that will be but I think it will help our portfolio. What I would like to propose to all fluid power companies is for you to consider having us at Fluid Power World and WTWH Media manage your social media accounts.  We offer packages of Social Media Management starting at $500 per month but that includes a lo

Expanded session offerings for design engineers and MRO professionals The third annual Fluid Power Technology Conference offers an expanded three-day program, with technical presentations geared towards OEM design engineers and after-market professionals in the maintenance, service and repair sectors. NEW this year will be two pre-conference workshops, May 14, 2018, presented by the experts at the Milwaukee School of Engineering and the International Fluid Power Society, with full-day sessions titled "Fluid Power Basics 101" and "Advanced Hydraulics Workshop." The following two days, May 15-16, will be packed with 30 and 45 minute technical presentations led by industry experts, including faculty from MSOE, Canada's preeminent fluid power trainer Carl Dyke, Fluid Power World's own Josh Cosford, and experts from the manufacturers themselves. 2018 Fluid Power Handbook

Image
The May issue of Fluid Power World magazine will be our 2018 Fluid Power Handbook Issue.  It promises to be one of our best print issues of the year. This annual issue will feature details on a wide variety of fluid power components including pumps, cylinders, valves, hose, fittings, seals, filters and more.  Some components are considered absolute necessities, while others are optional and used to refine the system for more precise operation or to increase the lifespan of the system. In this issue, our editors review the more common and widely used components explaining their operation and how an engineer should correctly specify them.   While fluid power can be used in most any industry or application, it is commonly seen in markets that include packaging, off-highway, mining, offshore/marine, medical material handling, construction, aerospace, automation, robotics, and entertainment. This would be a great issue for your advertising because it is such a valu

It pays to have good partners and for the 2018 Fluid Power Technology Conference, we have some excellent partners.  For the third straight year, we will be partnering with one of the nation's great engineering schools, the Milwaukee School of Engineering. The campus of MSOE serves as our host for the 2018 Fluid Power Technology Conference  and they have done a great job of hosting this event in each of the past two years.  Their very fine staff and faculty have provided us with not only an excellent location for this important fluid power event but they have contributed some very interesting and timely content. They will be stepping up their efforts in May 2018 by doing some of the actual seminar sessions and adding a full-day basics of hydraulics course on Monday, May 14, 2018 right on the MSOE campus. Visit our website for more information on how your technical people can enroll in that course.   Here is a link Another great partner who has also been with us in th

The FPTC Schedule is Shaping Up with Session Topics

As you may know, the 2018 Fluid Power Technology Conference,  FPTC,will be held on May 15-16, 2018 at the Milwaukee School of Engineering, MSOE.  In addition to the two days of exhibits and seminar sessions, we have added a third day of learning with Monday now being included with two excellent workshops. Basics of Hydraulics will be presented on Monday, May 14, 2018 by MSOE as a sort of preview for the next two days of seminar sessions.  Expert presenters will present fundamental topics of fluid power at this all-day event held on the campus of MSOE.  Additionally, the International Fluid Power Society, IFPS, will host an Advanced Fluid Power Session during the same hours on Monday.  Here are two great opportunities to increase your fluid power knowledge.  IFPS will also be offering certification testing on several levels on the same day. Add that to our two full days of seminar presentations at the FPTC and we now have a fantastic opportunity for design engineers, mechanics,
