The Fluid Power Industrial Consortium

The Fluid Power Industrial Consortium is an excellent event that is produced by our friend, Tom Wanke of the Milwaukee School of Engineering in conjunction with the NFPA.  In fact, the event was scheduled to take place co-located with the NFPA Regional Meeting but due the pandemic, this year's June event is being presented as a webinar. The title of the presentation on June 4, 2020 is Improving Fluid Power System Efficiency, Reliability, and Durability with Precision Manufacturing .   Here is a link to a registration page The specific topics and presenters include Bore Finishing Processes for Improved Hydraulic Component Performance presented by Phil Hanna of Sunnen Products Company, Technology Integration in Real Life Production Machining presented by John Belmonte of Mitotec Precision, LLC, and Maximizing Manufacturing Productivity in the Information Age presented by Dan Skulan of Renishaw, Inc.  Having attended the FPIC events in the past as well as the NFPA Regional Meetin

Your thoughts about virtual events?

I know that many working professionals across the world are using Zoom, GoTo Meeting, Google, and other means of communicating and we have actually done so for quite a while now, from even before the pandemic.  I also know that we have attended events through virtual means such as webinars for a long time too. Now, with events being postponed, fluid power companies still need a means to communicate with their customers and prospective customers and many have turned to digital platforms to replace face-to face events.  Back in 2017, Fluid Power World started our Fluid Power Technology Conference creating a forum for the exchange of information, for networking, and for getting to know more about what works best in fluid power. We had two great events planned for 2020 with the first conference taking place in Minnesota at the University of Minnesota in June.  Well, that plan got changed and, right now, it looks like that will not happen.  To replace it, we are planning a virtual

DesignFast for fluid power components

We’re building a search engine for electronic and mechanical components and products including fluid power components and related products. It’s called DesignFast - https://www.designfast.com/ Our goal is to help engineers find the products they need and then send them over to your store to make their purchase. If your company website has an e-commerce platform, through our new DesginFast program we can drive some traffic over to your site. We have a fantastic offer for 2020 as we are focused on helping companies get their products listed on the platform, so we can start building more traction and momentum. We’ll revisit any paid programs in the future once we get past this Corona crisis - with no obligation .  Getting your products on DesignFast is simple.
