Every issue of Fluid Power World magazine is full of great content about system design, maintenance, component selection, and much more. Our articles really help our OEM and aftermarket readers on the job with explanations of systems and components as well as success stories.
In May, we will discuss Mobile Hydraulics in Agricultural Applications where hydraulics meet the challenge of feeding our world in an efficient way. Having more information about component selection for agricultural applications is certainly important to our mobile audience.
On the industrial side, our editors will take a look at Injection Molding Machinery where hydraulics play a big role in making many of these machine functions possible. This has been a stable market for many years and we will take a look at some of the applications.
Compressed Air Efficiency will be the focus of our pneumatic feature in April. Pneumatic systems are used in many applications including packaging, medical, and automation. We cover pneumatics in every issue and on our websites. Our product focus will review Hydraulic Valves and Manifolds.
Join us with your product advertising in May. Our closing date for ad materials will be April 30. Please contact me if you have any questions.
Let’s continue to make 2017 a great year!

Last week, I attended my tenth IFPE Show out of the eleven that have taken place. My simple takeaway ... this was the best one ever.
As in the past, IFPE 2017 took place at the massive Las Vegas Convention Center and was held in conjunction with the ConExpo/ConAgg Show, an overwhelmingly large event itself. The IFPE was staged on the second floor of the very nice and very large South Hall with hundreds of great exhibits.
Why was this the best ever ... at least from my prospective? Well, I had a tremendous opportunity to meet with many existing advertising customers while meeting many new prospective customers as well. There was a wide array of mostly hydraulic technology on display at the event and many educational opportunities available to all attendees.
I had the opportunity to spend time with many of our customers and attend one amazing hospitality party given by one of them. This event offers many networking opportunities.
Additionally, Las Vegas is a great place to hold such a large show because of their capacity to do so both in terms of exhibit space as well as accommodations.
Our group mostly stayed at Paris Las Vegas which was both convenient and comfortable. The monorail system in Las Vegas is a great way to move large numbers of people into and out of the Convention Center. However, there were some delays due to the immense crowds. The monorail connects directly with Paris.
Another aspect of IFPE 2017 that made it great for me was the fantastic team that I work with. I thank our editors Paul, Mary, and Ken for their coverage of as many exhibitors as possible. Thanks also to Jen, Marshall, Garrett, Mike, Derek, Brad, and Tom for their excellent efforts at the event. Our Social Media Manager, Josh, attended his first IFPE and go to meet and hold discussions with many of our advertisers at the show. This was a great opportunity for him to get a crash course in fluid power.
All in all, the best IFPE ever!

2017 is a really big year for fluid power events! It starts with the 2017 IFPE/ConExpo ConAg Show in Las Vegas. This is the biggest fluid power event in North America.
With over 450 exhibitors, this gathering of fluid power exhibitors will attract tens of thousands of visitors in the South Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center.
The very next week, the city of Indianapolis will host the NTEA Work Truck Show, the must attend event for the work truck industry. For more information, visit their website.
Next on the list of events is not an actual trade show but an association conference with a trade show embedded within the event. It is the NAHAD Annual Meeting & Convention being held April 2-6, 2017 at the JW Marriott Hill Country Resort in San Antonio, Texas. Of course NAHAD stands for the Association for Hose and Accessories Distribution and the attendees are both hose and accessory distributors and manufacturers. Click here for more information.
Then on May 1-4, the annual huge event for the oil and gas industry called OTC 2017 is scheduled for the NRG Park in Houston. This show actually has lots of fluid power exhibitors because oil and gas is a very significant market for fluid power technology.
If you are interested in attending this great show in Houston, here is more information.
I will be writing about more fluid power events in 2017 in coming posts but for now, this is a LOT of information. Our Fluid Power Technology Conference is scheduled for May 16-17, 2017 and I will be adding lots of content about that.
